KUMHO TIRES WINS RED DOT AWARD FOR SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR
Kumho Tire U.S.A., one of the world's leading tire manufacturers, has won the prestigious 2013 Red Dot Design Award in the category of product design for its eco-friendly tire, the Ecowing ES01(KH27). Kumho Tires took this prize for the second year in a row, showcasing the company for its highly recognized and superb design capabilities.
Designed as an eco-friendly product for the European market, Ecowing ES01 demonstrated its excellent performance by meeting the strict requirements of the EU tire labeling system. Compared to conventional products, this new tire maximizes energy efficiency by reducing rolling resistance and ensures optimal drive stability by increasing wet grip.
Kumho Tires had already established a solid foothold within the Korean domestic market for eco-friendly tires when launching the Ecowing S, which features first-grade energy efficiency ratings. With this latest honor acknowledging its design excellence, in addition to its eco-friendly technology,
Kumho Tires will be able to further position itself as a responsible and aware company to consumers, as well as a leader in green initiatives within the tire manufacturing industry.

Last year, Kumho Tires won the Red Dot Design Award for the Ecsta LE Sport (KU39). In addition, it won the iF Design Award for three products - Ecsta LE Sport (KU39), Majesty Solus (KU50) and the I'Zen (KW27). Kumho also received the 2012 American Good Design Award for the Ecsta 4X in the category of transportation.
